Members of the 2006 field excursion from the Institute of Hannover during their stay in North Queensland

Education on Australian ecosystems, flora and fauna:

PavEcol organizes educational tours and field trips for students of High Schools and Universities learning about Australian landscapes, their origin, flora, fauna and aspects of their conservation. The company organizes and supervises internships and projects for Bachelor and Master degrees for overseas students in the fields of ecology, botany, zoology, landscape management and nature conservation.

PavEcol provides lecture series in preparation of field trips/excursions.

At present PavEcol is linked to the Institute of Geobotany of the University of Hannover (www.rrz.uni-hannover.de/Geobotanik) and the Department of Ecology , Vegetation Ecology of the Technical University of Munich (www.wzw.tum.de/vegoek)

The following projects have recently been finished:

· Michael Beger: Abandonment of overgrazed fields—Is this the right way for the restauration of natural vegetation in open dry woodlands of northern Australia? (Bachelor Work)

· Sarah Zaremba : Flowering and fruiting phenology of Normanbya normanbyi , a palm endemic to the lowland tropical rainforest of north-eastern Australia (Internship)

 

· Study Australian ecosystems

· Learn about flora and fauna

· Get experience in doing your own project on Australian ecosystems, flora or fauna

· Get involved in nature conservation of Australian ecosystems
